Alexander Ziemba, MA Fashion, and Shane Elias, BA (Hons) Fashion Design, have won the top prizes in the inaugural Miss Sixty Future Denim Lab Awards, “recognizing emerging talent redefining the future of circular denim design and research.”

Run in conjunction with the University of the Arts London, Central Saint Martins and Miss Sixty, the awards “recognise outstanding undergraduate and postgraduate work using denim as a catalyst for innovation, spanning circular design, regenerative thinking and experimental material processes.”
Winner of the Miss Sixty Future Denim Discovery Prize was Ziemba, while highly recommended was Ruth Lloyd, PhD registered at Central Saint Martins UAL, Living Systems Lab, sponsored by Colorifix and UAL.
Shortlisted were Louise McArthur, MA Regenerative Design; Josie Blundell, MA Material Futures; Audrey Levy, MA Biodesign; and Tom Saville, MA Biodesign.
The Future Denim Design Prize winner was Shane Elias, BA (Hons) Fashion Design: Communication, while highly commended was Luke Saul, BA (Hons) Fashion Design: Menswear.
Shortlisted were Maya Brown, BA (Hons) Textile Design; Matteo Dunkley, BA (Hons) Fashion Design: Knit; Sophia Layk, BA (Hons) Fashion Design: Communication; and Chuxuan Yu, BA (Hons) Textile Design.
Global marketing director for Italian denim fashion brand Miss Sixty, Terry Xu, said: “Our collaboration with Central Saint Martins is rooted in innovation, sustainability and the future of denim culture. Together we are building a platform connecting industry and education, supporting emerging talent and advancing new approaches to denim design and material innovation.”
