Roots is embracing the nostalgia of the Canadian road trip with the launch of a limited-edition capsule series created in collaboration with Toronto-born multidisciplinary artist Moya Garrison-Msingwana, known as Gangbox.

Dubbed “Pit Stops Summer ’26”, the collection celebrates six iconic roadside food destinations from across Canada through a range of apparel and accessories inspired by each establishment’s distinct visual identity and cultural significance.
Notably, the collection highlights Prince Edward Island ice cream brand Cows, Montreal institutions La Banquise and St-Viateur Bagel, Ontario favorites The Big Apple and Weber’s Hamburgers, and Vancouver’s Duffin’s Donuts.
Designed in Gangbox’s signature painterly style, each featured destination is represented by four products including graphic crewneck sweatshirts, T-shirts, tote bags and baseball caps.
“Roots has always been part of the moments that define a Canadian summer: the road trips, the detours, and the familiar stops that become just as memorable as the destination,” said Leslie Golts, chief marketing officer, Roots.
“These places are where memories are made with friends and family. They’re part of our shared Canadian experience. Celebrating iconic Canadian food favorites and the communities behind them felt natural for Roots because they’re part of our story, too.”
To celebrate the launch, Roots will host a three-day Route 73 pop-up at The well‘s Wellington Square in Toronto from July 29 to 31.
The release comes as Roots continues to expand its footprint across the country. Earlier this week, the Canadian lifestyle brand also announced the opening of a new store at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) in partnership with travel retailer Hudsonpart of Avolta.
Roots first-quarter sales rose 6.5% to $42.6 million for the period ended May 2, driven by growth across both its direct-to-consumer and wholesale businesses.
