The shoes, which are Adidas’s contribution to the ballet flats trend and a “callback to the 2010’s”, has seen a recent “explosion of interest”, with stars such as Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jennerand Harry Styles all spotted adopting ‘sneakerinas’ over the past few months.

JD said this pattern is “reflective of a wider cultural shift towards slimmer, playful styles for spring 2026”, with similar search patterns emerging for ‘lacey’ Adidas Spezials, recent Molly Mae collaborations, Puma Speedcat, and animal prints.

It also noted an appetite for “simplistic monochrome colourways” with searches for ‘Samba Janes Black’ jumping 1,171% against last month “as shoppers look to jump on this emerging trend.”

The trend has also bled into menswear, with Styles spotted wearing them in his recent video for ‘Aperture’and Bad Bunny, who’s collaborated with Adidas to produce his own variants of the trend being photographed wearing flats for various red-carpet appearances.

Available at JD in off-white, silver, and black and retailing at £80 for women, the shoes offer a “practical middle ground for those looking to adopt the sneakerina aesthetic without having to sacrifice comfort during their adventures this summer.”

Abby Tootill, senior digital trading executive for JD UK & Ireland, added: “We’re seeing strong momentum behind the Adidas Samba Jane. It perfectly blends the familiarity of the Samba with the softer, more playful aesthetic of ballet flats, which is clearly resonating with our audience. We expect this trend to continue building as we move into summer.”
