Portugal’s Andreia Lobato makes her Paris Fashion Week debut

Portuguese fashion designer Andrea Lobato made her debut at Paris Fashion Week (PFW) on March 5 with her Made in Portugal haute couture, designed and conceived at the Torres Vedras atelier where she is based, at number 11 Calouste Gulbenkian Square, which bears the name Galerias Andreia Lobato. The new collection, presented on the Paris catwalk, followed “an official invitation to join the Paris Fashion Week calendar, consolidating her career on the international fashion scene,” according to a press release carried by JN. More often, however, it is on her social media channels that Lobato shares her creations and events such as this one in the French capital, which have elevated her profile and offer a behind-the-scenes perspective.

Born in Torres Vedras, Andreia Lobato traveled the world after graduating in Fashion Design at ESART- Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas do Instituto Politecnico de Castelo Branco and at Modatex (formerly CITEX) in Porto, an institution internationally recognized for its rigorous training in industrial pattern cutting and luxury garment construction techniques. This path led to her official debut on the Paris Fashion Week catwalk, where she presented her latest bridal and gala collection at La Galerie Bourbon in the 8th arrondissement- once the Paris residence of the Spanish royal family- the venue for the show.

“The most eagerly awaited video since I left Paris is out. My show- one of those moments that stays with you forever, not just in your career but in your life. A lot of work, a lot of commitment, emotions running high, and seeing it all take shape on that catwalk was simply unforgettable,” she posted on Instagram, along with the video of her bridal wear show at PFW. “I’m really curious to know what you thought. Tell me everything here… and, once again, a millll xxxxx thank you for your support,” she continues on @andreialobato.al, where she shares moments from the trip and also introduces her jewelery and perfume under her eponymous AL brand dedicated to weddings. Her website confirms this focus, highlighting the creation of unique pieces, meticulously developed and prepared specifically for each client, as stated on Andreia-lobato.com.

“After moving my whole life to Saudi Arabia, this invitation came along. It brought a whirlwind of feelings and a huge weight of responsibility. Paris (Paris Fashion Week) wasn’t luck; it was the result of a lifetime of choices,” confesses Andreia Lobato in another Instagram post: “I’ve never felt so indecisive- on the one hand, the biggest dream of my life; on the other, going back on a decision that had already turned our lives upside down down- mine, ours, Enzo’s and Zoë’s. Only I know the knot in my chest as I tried to figure out what to do, but I decided consciously, as a family, with my heart.”

The couturier lived with her family in Riyadh until December 2025, after her husband, Emanuel, received a professional offer in Saudi Arabia, using her time in the Saudi capital to explore new market opportunities in the luxury fashion and events sector. However, she hasn’t turned her back on Portugal, traveling frequently to her company and main atelier in Torres Vedras.

“What an incredible day, I’m so happy! Today it really hit me: it’s real, I’m in Paris… Looking at these photos I can only remember when I was a little girl, leafing through magazines, watching interviews, imagining what it would be like to be on this side,” reads the press release, penned by Andreia Lobato, who recalls: “This world seemed so far away, almost impossible, and now I’m here, living exactly what once only existed. in my head.”

“Where you come from doesn’t define you (I always remember this phrase); what defines you is your education, your resilience, the way you keep going even when no one is applauding, even when no one believes as much as you do,” she concludes.
