The Portuguese streetwear and lifestyle brand Wrong Sense®, founded in 2020 by Antonio Penha and Cafi Costa, with 100% Portuguese production and a strong focus on casual, oversized, and gender-neutral pieces, has just unveiled a bikini drop as part of its first swimwear collection, officially launched this year.

Although some styles evoke Ibiza, the inspiration for this collection is “the Mediterranean in general,” featuring five versions of a single design, priced at 69 euros per set on the website, which “strongly suggests slow living,” explains Cafi Costa.
“We launched the first ones in May,” continues the co-founder of Wrong Sense, who has since taken over the company on his own: “We’ve already launched more,” Cafi adds when FashionNetwork.com contacted him on Tuesday, further noting that the collection was not revealed all at once last May, as the brand presented new styles at the end of June.

According to the brand, the new bikini collection is part of the brand’s expansion into a summer lifestyle concept, complementing its linen and streetwear clothing collections and positioning itself in the mid-to-premium segment, in line with the rest of the brand’s portfolio.
The strong Mediterranean inspiration is also evident in the names chosen for the collections- Mediterraneo, Fiji, and Neutrals- which focus on natural colours, simple patterns, and a minimalist aesthetic, with an emphasis on high-quality materials.

This is despite the fact that Wrong Sense had already launched a single bikini style in 2025, with the aim of gauging acceptance of this category in the markets where it operates—including Spain, the United States, and France, where it has since established a strong presence, in addition to Portugal.
Its capsule collections and special collaborations- such as Wrong Sense x Nómadas, Wrong Sense x oMA Studios, and Wrong Sense x DICCIwhich FashionNetwork.com has been highlighting- have greatly contributed to this success.

Since Wrong Sense sells exclusively online, it has been strengthening its international presence through collaborations with foreign brands and via a strategy heavily reliant on social media and e-commerce.
Currently, the Porto-based brand primarily sells T-shirts and long-sleeve shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts, linen shirts, linen and denim pants, jorts (denim shorts), polo shirts, caps, baby tops, and now bikinis.
